What is the life expectancy of HCM?

Image
A mutation in one of the several genes that encode for the anatomy of the heart results in the disorder known as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). Not all of the HCM-related genes have been discovered. As an autosomal dominant trait, the condition is inherited. In other words, there is a 50% probability that a parent with HCM will carry the defective gene to their offspring. Though the severity of the resulting heart illness cannot be properly anticipated, if a kid does inherit the mutation, the condition will most likely manifest during puberty (i.e., the heart wall muscle thickening). Although individuals with symptoms caused by blockage who have septal reduction therapy normally experience a significant improvement in symptoms and normal longevity, patients with no or only moderate symptoms typically have a better prognosis than those with more severe symptoms. However, the degree of cardiac involvement or the risk of sudden death do not always correlate with the severity o...

Does yoga affect your genes!?

So, let’s take a dip into the ocean of genes. But hold the yoga in your hands. Think you are practicing yoga daily. Are you? The way your cells work can also change with just 15 minutes of mental rest each day. In some studies, it was found that those who practiced meditation for 15 minutes each day for eight weeks experienced changes in 172 genes that regulate inflammation, sleep-wake rhythms, and the body's processing of sugar. But how !? The methylation patterns are influenced by lifestyle, nutrition, and pollution exposure, according to scientists. They also understand that even a single workout has the potential to alter the methylation pattern of a few genes in our muscle cells. Instead of altering the genetic code itself, the changes are made by changing how genes are expressed. According to recent studies, practicing yoga and meditation to manage our stress can potentially alter our genes. Since the body has a fantastic intrinsic ability to heal itself. One of t...
